Jane Kirby

Jane Kirby is a Kingston based circus artist specializing in the aerial arts. In 2017 she performed as an aerialist across the Southern U.S. and Pacific Northwest with the Caravan Stage Company’s production of Nomadic Tempest. Jane also creates original works of contemporary circus. Notable works include In Defense of Libraries (2016), Beneath Our Feet (2016) and echolocation (2014).
Info about the piece to be performed:
In Defense of Libraries is an aerial installation meditating on the importance of public libraries. It was originally inspired by threats to the future of public libraries that were occurring across the country in 2016. Performed and created by Jane Kirby, with sound design by David Parker, and featuring interviews with library goers from across Eastern Canada.

Erin Ball

Erin Ball is a circus artist and the owner of Kingston Circus Arts. In 2014 she had an accident that led to becoming a double amputee. She now uses her new perspective and situation to tell stories, explore movement and make statements in her performances.
Conceived and choreographed by Heidi in collaboration with Erin, excerpt from Displayed called Suspended Disbelief, music by Ximena Borges.
