SPAF’s 2018 AGM approaches.

Festival organizers and community members are welcome to join us for our Annual General Meeting on Saturday, December 1 at Next Church, featuring a performance by Piner.

Piner is a local artist from Kingston, Ontario. Although she is a new artist, she is an old soul. Growing up Piner was surrounded by musicians who taught her to write her feelings and thoughts on paper and sing them aloud for anyone who cared to listen. One of Piner’s inspirations is her neighbourhood. Growing up in the environs of Skeleton Park she experienced the wealth that comes from community while witnessing the reality of struggle. Piner writes songs that let her empathy and understanding take over, by stepping into the stories of others. Piner released her debut album called ‘The Breaking Point’ in July which has received recognition by Dominionated, a independent Canadian Music blog (https://dominionated.ca/albums/piner-the-breaking-point/). The author Mac Cameron writes that “The Breaking Point is a display of pure confidence and vulnerability.” Piner hopes that these songs will allow listeners to connect with the complexities of the greater human experience.
